Stream Monitoring Grants
Eligible organizations can receive money to run volunteer-based benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring programs.
MiCorps’ Volunteer Stream Monitoring Program (VSMP) provides grants, technical assistance, and training to stream monitoring groups in Michigan to assist them in running benthic macroinvertebrate and stream habitat monitoring programs that rely on a volunteer workforce. With MiCorps guidance, this network of stream monitoring groups collects reliable, high-quality data on our state's rivers, creeks, and streams. The VSMP has existed since 2005.
